From the vivacious east to the verdant south, from the burgeoning west to the bustling centre, you’ll be hard put to find someone in Pune who hasn’t heard of Prem’s. A restaurant that seemingly ages as fine as the wine it serves, this Koregaon Park icon hasn’t just stood the test of time ... it has defied it altogether.

Little has changed in terms of setting (and for good reason) since Prem’s first opened its doors in 1986. A spacious and airy alfresco restaurant under a canopy of grand old trees, coupled with a rustic ambience that transports you to a simpler, idyllic time — why would anybody change something so blissfully perfect?

Like most timeless establishments, Prem’s comes from humble beginnings. It started as a family-run restaurant no bigger than your average backyard. The Osho Rajneesh movement was big back then, and Prem’s, with its modest setting and old-world charm, became an instant hit with those austere, orange-clad devotees, as well as the initial residents of Koregaon Park.

To accommodate its ever-growing patronage, Prem’s has expanded considerably since its inception. However, it still retains that quaint magic of yesteryear. And while it does currently enjoy the status of a versatile and flourishing multi-cuisine restaurant, it is that genuine, heartwarming exchange of culture back in the 80s between the predominantly-foreign neo-sannyasins and the forever-welcoming Indians that set the stage for Prem’s to become what it really is today — one of Pune’s most distinguished culinary landmarks.

Food and Drink

Called The Bill of Fare as an homage to the glory days of old (fun fact: the menu on the Titanic was called The Bill of Fare), the Prem’s menu is as extensive as … well, the Titanic itself (shout-out to our parent company Iceberg; and yes, the comic irony is not lost on us).

From North Indian delicacies and regional specialties to Sizzlers and European favorites, from popular cuisines like Italian and Oriental to lesser known world cuisines like Moroccan, Iranian, Ethiopian and Senegalese — Prem’s has something for everyone, classics and adventurers alike.

Of course, no menu is complete without some tipple to polish off your meal. Boasting a massive selection of world-renowned spirits, single malts and premium beers on tap, the Prem’s bar menu ‘Drinktionary’ will leave you hankering to sip, swig, gulp and guzzle — all in one go.
